Gareth Southgate has revolutionized the England national team in a very positive way.
And the result of that was quite evident during the World Cup in Russia when the Three Lions reached the semi-finals of the tournament.
But ever since the conclusion of the World Cup, the English FA have been trying desperately to tie down Gareth Southgate to a new deal.
Last months reports suggested that Southgate was not eager to sign a new contract with the Three Lions and that England were looking at alternatives.
Now according to the Telegraph, England are planning to offer Gareth Southgate a new deal which if he chooses to accept will keep him in charge of the national side until 2022.
Gareth Southgate currently receives £1.5 million a year but under the terms of the new deal, the manager will see a significant rise to his salary – up to £3 million.
While many fans are ecstatic about this new deal but the deal does nothing but increases Gareth Southgate’s salary as the Three Lions manager.

You see, Gareth Southgate’s current contract with England is until 2020 – with an option to extend for two further years.
Having said that though, the next Euros will certainly be a huge test for the manager and if he fails to deliver a good result then it will be tough for Gareth Southgate to remain at the helm for much longer.
England are already said to be finding a suitable replacement for their current manager and the names of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard rank very high on that list.
