Rangers FC beat Legia Warsaw in their final Europa League play-off game thanks to an injury-time winner from Alfredo Morelos.

And due to this win, the Gers will be playing in the main competition and their first game will be against Feyenoord at the Ibrox Stadium later this month.

But UEFA have confirmed that Rangers have received a partial stadium ban for this Europa League game after their home were found guilty of sectarian chants during the Warsaw game.

This means that a section of the Ibrox Stadium will be closed for the Europa League game vs Feyenoord and around 3000 home fans will miss this match.

In a statement, the governing body said(as reported): “The Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body has decided to order a partial closure of the Rangers FC stadium during the next one (1) Uefa competition match in which Rangers FC will play as the host club, for the racist behaviour of its supporters.

“Rangers FC shall inform Uefa of the sector(s) to be closed, which shall at least comprehend 3,000 seats.

“The Scottish club is ordered to display a banner with the wording “#EqualGame”, with the Uefa logo on it.”

Rangers also released a statement which confirming the fans about the closure.

The statement read: “UEFA has today ordered that a section of Ibrox Stadium will be closed off when Rangers play their home Europa League, Group G match against Feyenoord at Ibrox Stadium on Thursday, September 19.

“A total of 3000 seats will be closed off because of sectarian singing from a small group of fans during the first leg of the play-off fixture against Legia Warsaw in Poland last Thursday evening (August 22.)

“The Club had already informed UEFA that we would be declining tickets for Rangers next away European tie, which will be in Switzerland against BSC Young Boys Thursday, October 3, and this decision would have had a significant bearing on the governing body’s deliberations.”
