Everton midfielder Ross Barkley could well be on his way out of the Goodison during the January transfer window.

Just last year the attacking midfielder was rated as highly as the likes of Raheem Sterling and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but this season the footballing Gods have not looked down nicely on the English International. Barkley has just six months left on his current contract with the Toffees and he is yet to kick a ball this season.

Barkley was close to joining Chelsea on deadline day during the summer transfer window but he chose to return back to Everton during the final moments of the transfer process as he wanted to give his Merseyside career another shot. But that clearly has not worked out well for the 24-year-old.

Along with Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest in Barkley and Mauricio Pochettino is said to be a huge admirer of the midfielder. Everton’s new boss Sam Allardyce has said that he wishes to keep the player at the club by offering his a new contract but he has also raised concern over the fact that a deal with either Chelsea or Tottenham might have already been agreed upon.

Allardyce said, “I’d like to think we can keep Barkley unless somebody’s already done a deal for him. I am not daft enough to know in this game that those words and phone calls might not have already gone on.”

So Big Sam is pretty much sure that Ross Barkley is on his way out of Goodison at the start of the new year and we have a feeling that he is on his way to join the Lilywhites rather than Chelsea.
