Rangers FC have had a busy summer transfer window bringing in a number of players and also selling off a few.

On Thursday which was the deadline day for the English transfer window, the Light Blues sold both Declan John and Josh Windass to two Championship sides.

While Declan John joined Swansea City for a fee which is expected to be in the region of £1 million, Josh Windass joined Wigan Athletic for a fee of around £2.5 million plus add-ons.

And there were fears that the Gers might lose yet another player on the wee hours of Thursday after multiple reports had claimed that right-back James Tavernier might move out of the club.

Championship side West Bromwich Albion had submitted a bid of £3 million for the services of James Tavernier but Rangers had immediately refused the bid claiming it had fallen way short of their valuation.

STV Raman Bhardwaj reported on Thursday that West Brom’s bid for Tavernier had fallen short of Rangers’ asking price and the Gers have decided not to sell him off.

Herald journalist Chris Jack also echoed the same statement.

James Tavernier joined the Ibrox outfit from Wigan Athletic in 2015 for a transfer fee of £200,000 and during the four seasons he has been with the club, the right-back has made 145 appearances – chipping in with 28 goals.

And finally, the fans were happy with their club’s decision especially after many had claimed that Steven Gerrard had decided to offload Declan John for a dirt cheap price.
