Dele Alli Spurs vs Man United

England manager Gareth Southgate has named his 23-man World Cup squad and this year’s team travels to Russia with a lot of promise.

The Three Lions are being led by striker Harry Kane and the team has a perfect balance of youth and experience – something England have lacked in previous campaigns.

The team has youngsters like Marcus Rashford, Raheem Sterling and John Stones but according to former World Cup winner Roberto Carlos, one England player has a Brazilian ‘swagger’ in him.

Carlos, 45, was a part of the Brazil side who were beaten finalists at the 1998 World Cup in France before winning the tournament four years later.

And the defender feels that England’s Dele Alli resembles a Brazilian player.

The former Real Madrid man said: “England are one of the favourites after Brazil. But I really like Dele Alli – he’s a lot like a Brazilian player.

“I saw him at the Real Madrid against Spurs game and he was really impressive. He’s tall and has real ability – a very good player.

“He has the swagger that Brazilians have.”

Roberto Carlos’ side are the favourites for many to lift the World Cup this year as Brazil play their first game of the Group stage against Switzerland on Sunday while England open their campaign the following day when they take on Tunisia.

England has not been given too much hope of winning the campaign and as per a recent report, they only have a 4% chance of winning the tournament.
