Steven Gerrard wants Filip Helander at Aston Villa

Rangers FC manager Steven Gerrard has worked wonders for the club ever since he took charge in the summer.

From making a flurry of signings to getting the Gers back into Europe, Stevie G has achieved a lot in such a short span of time.

And it seems that the Rangers boss will have to use his connections once again during the January transfer window.

Reports suggest that Rangers are planning to bring in atleast four new players at the start of the new year and one of them is expected to be Liverpool forward Dominic Solanke.

Solanke joined Liverpool from Chelsea on a free transfer but since then the England international has not been able to win the trust of Jurgen Klopp.

And he is expected to be sent out on loan until the end of the season.

At first, Rangers looked like the only destination for Dominic Solanke but now fresh rumours have surfaced which claim that Turkish club Galatasaray are also interested in getting their hands on the centre-forward.

The report in the Turkish media claims that Galatasaray are confident of beating Rangers FC to the signing of Solanke and this is where Steven Gerrard needs to step in.

The Teddy Bears already have a number of players who are currently on loan at the club from Liverpool and the former Liverpool midfielder is someone who is trusted by Jurgen Klopp.

So if Gerrard can really push for Dominic Solanke’s signing then surely Rangers will have an upper hand in this deal.

But the biggest problem in the loan deal would be once the season comes to an end.

Klopp is ready to offload Dominic Solanke in the summer meaning a possible loan deal will surely come with a permanent buy clause and this is where Galatasaray will feel they have the advantage.

Rangers will surely not be able to shell out a couple of million pounds in the purchase of Dominic Solanke if they were to bring him on loan in January.
