Maurizio Sarri claims he is doing nothing unfair with ‘this’ Chelsea player: AGREE OR NOT?

Chelsea signed Gary Cahill from Bolton Wanderers in 2012 and up until last season, the English international was a key member of the first team.

But under new boss, Maurizio Sarri, everything has changed for the centre-back.

Gary Cahill has fallen down the pecking order and this season he is yet to make an appearance for the Blues in the Premier League.

So far the defender has played in just seven games for the club and all of them have come during the first half of the season and he hasn’t made a single appearance in over three months.

Just before the January transfer window, Sarri had made it clear that Gary Cahill is of no use to him and the defender is free to leave the club in 2019.

While a deal could not be struck in January but with his deal expiring in the summer, Gary Cahill will leave the club – one way or the other.

Many people have started raising concerns over the isolation of the defender and many people claim that he is certainly good enough to come on as a substitute for a few games.

But Sarri has made it clear that he not doing anything unjust with Gary Cahill.

“He is training with his team-mates of course,” Sarri said.

“I know very well in the dressing room he is very important and so we use him in the right way I think because every player and member of the staff knows very well he is important.

“I know that he is the last year of the contract. I know there are some problems for a new contract but you have to ask the club I think.”

Chelsea play Fulham on Sunday and the Cottagers were one of the sides who were interested in signing Gary Cahill.

But now that Fulham are on the brink of relegation we are not sure that the 33-year-old would want to move to Craven Cottage during the summer.
