Hammers eye a replacement for Lobotka and it’s bad news for Everton: Here’s why

West Ham United have been linked with a move for Celta Vigo midfielder Stanislav Lobotka for a couple of weeks now – as per reports.

Stanislav Lobotka joined Celta back in 2017 and during the past two years, the defensive midfielder has really caught the attention with some fine performances.

During the current season, the 25-year-old has already featured in 17 La Liga matches for Celta but it seems like he could be on his way out of the club during the January transfer window.

And as per reports, David Moyes wants to bring him to the London Stadium and the Hammers have already made a bid of around 22 million euros for the defensive midfielder.

While Celta Vigo are ready to send Stanislav Lobotka to England but surprisingly the player has rejected the move saying that he is not interested in joining the Hammers.

And many believe that this snub is due to the fact that Napoli have also shown interest in signing the midfielder this month.

While Napoli are yet to make official contact but Stanislav Lobotka is sure that the Serie A outfit will make a move for him and right now a move to Naples is his first priority.

West Ham United are offering more money than what Napoli are willing to spend but Stanislav Lobotka is just not interested in joining the Hammers.

This will surely come as a huge blow for David Moyes who is desperately trying to bring in some reinforcements during the current month but now he has no other option but to shift to another transfer target.

UPDATE(7th January 2020):

After failing to sign Lobotka, West Ham United have reportedly shifted their focus to Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes.

Gedson Fernandes has come up through the ranks at Benfica and up until now Everton were regarded as the only suitors of the 20-year-old.

As per the rumours, Everton are expected to hold talks with Benfica over the signing of the midfielder but now with West Ham United also entering the race, things might be a bit tougher for Carlo Ancelotti.

The Hammers were willing to pay around 22 million euros for Lobotka and experts believe an amount similar to that range should be enough to sign Gedson Fernandes.
