Steven Gerrard wants Filip Helander at Aston Villa

Alfredo Morelos picked up yet another red card, this time during the Old Firm Derby for a tussle against Scott Brown.

The Colombian might be a great goal scorer but he also had this habit of collecting red cards and right now, this weird fetish is turning out to be embarrassing.

Alfredo Morelos picked up the red card right after the half-hour mark which meant the Gers had to play most of the game with 10-men.

But surprisingly enough, Steven Gerrard came out to bash Celtic midfielder Scott Brown for stirring the whole incident.

“You’re playing against a player that loves to antagonise,” said Gerrard.

“The Alfredo Morelos incident comes from being provoked, the Ryan Kent incident comes from being provoked, and Andy Halliday at the end.

“The guy who antagonised it all from the beginning deserves to be punished as well. When you’re provoked, it’s only fair that both sides get punished in my view.

“There’s 98% Celtic support in the stadium today, the Celtic players were right to celebrate and enjoy themselves of course. We did it in the last Old Firm, but to do it five or 10 yards away from our supporters is a lack of respect.

“Andy is well within his rights to protect his own people. The referee hasn’t done anything about the Scott Brown situation, and we’ve been punished for it.

“Maybe (Halliday’s red card) is deserved, but only if the guy who antagonised it from the beginning is punished as well.”

To be very honest, Alfredo Morelos has this habit of getting into unnecessary fights and it is a weakness that every opponent would try an exploit.

So even if Scott Brown did go on to provoke the Colombian, instead of ranting against him, Gerrard should try and put some sense into Morelos’ head.
