Rangers FC have made a series of signings during the summer transfer window but with the new players coming in, a couple of the existing ones are also scheduled to leave the club.
And one such player is defender Bruno Alves who is set to be sold to Serie A side Parma after spending just one season in Scotland.
Alves arrived at Rangers last summer for an undisclosed fee but the 36-year-old has failed to make a serious impact on the first team despite playing 25 games in all competitions.
Now that the defender is set to move out of the club, Gerrard is looking to bring in a new replacement for him and if reports are anything to go by then the Gers boss has set his eyes on Milwall defender Jake Cooper.
Cooper, 23, started his career at Reading but after a number of unsuccessful seasons, the defender was eventually sold off to Milwall where he has thrived under manager Neil Harris.
Jake Copper played a total of 42 games for the Championship side clocking up 4 goals and 3 assists in the process. And this fine performance from the 23-year-old has caught the attention of Steven Gerrard.
The Light Blues are planning to make a move for the defender but it seems that they will have to shell out a seven-figure amount in order to get the services of Jake Coopper.
And given the fact that the club has already spent so heavily on other players, we will have to wait and see if the Gers management will give a green light to the deal.
