Rangers FC currently have a number of forwards at their disposal and some more are expected to arrive during the summer transfer window.

In such a scenario, getting opportunities in the first team next campaign will be virtually impossible for Glenn Middleton.

Glenn Middleton came up through the ranks at Norwich and last year he joined the Gers U20 side.

But during the 2018-19 season, appearances have been really hard to come by for the youngster as he managed to play in only 14 Premiership games and most of these were substitute appearances.

Ryan Kent was the left winger of choice for Steven Gerrard last season and the manager is trying hard to bring the Liverpool youngster back for one more season.

And if Kent does arrive at the Ibrox then surely Glenn Middleton will once again fall down the pecking order and Gerrard believes that this could be a huge blow for the confidence for the youngster.

As a result of this Rangers are planning to send the 19-year-old out on loan during the 2018-19 season.

As per reports, the Gers are willing to listen to loan offers for Glenn Middleton but right now no one has made an official approach for him.

Middleton is a fine young talent with a lot of promise so surely some League One or Premiership club will eventually end up taking him up on loan for the upcoming season.

But some experts believe that Rangers should hold onto him until the deal for Ryan Kent is wrapped up.

As things stand, clubs like Aston Villa and Leeds United have shown interest in signing Kent from Liverpool and if that happens then letting Glenn Middleton leave could be the wrong move.

So the sensible thing for Gerrard to do right now is wrap up a loan move for Ryan Kent and then allow Middleton to leave.
