Arsenal failed to keep hold of a two-goal advantage vs Crystal Palace this weekend but despite that, all the talking point seems to be focused on Granit Xhaka.

Granit Xhaka had another poor outing in the Premier League which is why the manager chose to take him off during the hour-mark and replace him with youngster Bukayo Saka.

And while the Swiss international was coming off the pitch, he reportedly got in a spat with the Arsenal supporters and some reports claim he even uttered some unparliamentary words.

Granit Xhaka was clearly not too happy at being taken off and the midfielder oddly enough chose to ditch a handshake from his manager and walk straight down the tunnel.

Here’s how Sky Sports’ Oli Yew reported it:

‘Nasty scenes at the Emirates as Xhaka’s number goes up. He’s going to be replaced by Saka. There are huge ironic cheers from the home fans to greet the decision.

‘Xhaka then strolls off the pitch. He’s in no hurry to get off and the Arsenal fans rise as one to urge him off. It’s loud, very loud as they make their displeasure known towards the Arsenal captain, who cups his hands to his ears.

‘He’s still in no hurry as the jeers get louder and louder. He cups his hand to his ear one more time before taking his shirt off and heading straight down the tunnel.’

And after this incident, almost everyone has spoken out against the midfielder and most people are of the view that Granit Xhaka should be punished for his behaviour.

While any sane club would hand over a ban or atleast a monetary fine to such a player but we don’t think Unai Emery and Arsenal have the courage to pull it off.

Remember when Laurent Koscielny chose not to join the squad for their pre-season tour and publicly claimed that he wanted to move out?

Well, at that time Unai Emery instead of coming out and bashing his captain left, right and centre chose to give a very politically correct statement to the media.

And in the Granit Xhaka case, things are even more difficult since the Arsenal manager does not have many major replacements to fall back on in case he chooses to free out the Swiss international.
