Arsenal will take on Watford in the English Premier League next weekend and there have been doubts as to whether Granit Xhaka will be fit for this game.

The Swiss international picked up an injury while playing for his national side as he was seen limping off the pitch.

And immediately there were rumours that Granit Xhaka had picked up an achilles injury which would force him out of the Watford game this coming weekend.

Now though the player has come out to claim that his Achilles tendon has been in pain for several weeks which is why his knock during the clash vs Gibraltor is not a cause of any major concern.

“I’ve been suffering from Achilles tendon pain for a few weeks now. I felt it during the game,” he said.

“It hurts now, but it should be okay otherwise.”

This now means Granit Xhaka will be fit and available for selection when Unai Emery names his matchday squad vs the Hornets.

Under normal circumstances, this wouldn’t have been really good news for the Arsenal fans since Xhaka was really poor during the North London Derby.

But as it stands, Lucas Torriera might have picked up an injury during his duty with the national side and he is in doubt for the Watford game.

So in this scenario, if Granit Xhaka too would have been injured then it would have been a really big cause of concern for the Arsenal manager.

Now though, the Swiss international will most certainly pair up with Matteo Guendouzi when the Gunners visit Vicarage Road.
