Tottenham Hotspur will take on Liverpool in the Champions League final next month and right now Mauricio Pochettino is sweating over the fitness of Harry Kane.

Harry Kane has been the key figure in attack for the Lilywhites during the past couple of season and this season too, the England international has been in fine form.

But the striker picked up a ligament injury to his left ankle against Manchester City in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League and since then he has been out of action.

Initially, it was reported that Harry Kane would be out until the summer which cast doubts on his participation in not only the UCL final but also in the Nations League.

But last week, England manager Gareth Southgate dropped a hint that Harry Kane might just be fit in time to play in the Nations League which also meant that he could be line to play vs Liverpool.

And now the striker has himself revealed that he is recovering ahead of schedule.

He said: “Rehab is going well. I started straight-line running this week and I have to start training even harder to prove myself to the gaffer.”

Harry Kane had scored 24 goals in just 39 games this season before he picked up the injury meaning his return will be a huge boost for Pochettino.

But even if the striker cannot make himself available for the final vs Liverpool then it will be Lucas Moura and Son who will be leading the line just like they did vs Ajax.

Some reports have also claimed that Harry Kane might only be fit enough to be named on the bench and will only be risked in the second half if Pochettino feels the need to introduce him.

Spurs will surely go into the final vs Liverpool as the second best side but with the introduction of Harry Kane in the first XI, the chances of the Lilywhites beating Klopp’s men will increase significantly.
