Harry Kane was left injured during Spurs 1-0 loss to Man United in the Premier League last month.

And this was the first time when the Spurs squad was really exposed.

The Lilywhites did not bring in a single player during the summer transfer window – a feat that has never been achieved by any other club since the inception of the transfer window.

And when everyone thought a few reinforcements will be arriving in January, Pochettino chose against it and put his faith on the players at his disposal.

This was when the injury to Harry Kane happened and Mauricio Pochettino was left with only Fernando Llorente at his disposal.

As soon as the injury happened the manager made it clear that it did not look good and those fears were confirmed after a few days when the club confirmed that Harry Kane would be out for atleast two months.

Initially, the club claimed that Harry Kane would only return back to training in March but now it looks like the England international is making a much more speedy recovery.

“Now he is here, he is doing well, he is doing fantastic,” Pochettino said.

“You know very well we need to stop him every day because he wants to be ahead of his recovery

“He’s very optimistic and determined to play as soon as possible — it’s unbelievable but he’s doing well.

“If you see him he’s nearly ready to play but we need to be realistic too and of course in between all the areas to take the best decision.

“He’s so close to coming back again. Not for Sunday, not for Wednesday but we will see after.”

The manager has confirmed Harry Kane is well ahead of schedule and instead of March, the striker is expected to make a return at the end of this month when Spurs take on Burnley in the Premier League.

The early return of Harry Kane will most certainly be a huge boost for Spurs despite the fact that the club will go trophyless for yet another season.
