Harry Kane playing for England Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has been tipped to move out of Tottenham Hotspur during the summer and many think the forward has already played his final home game of the season for his childhood side.

Spurs faced Aston Villa in the Premier League in midweek at home and after the match, Harry Kane was the only player standing on the pitch applauding the fans. And any person who is in touch with the forward’s transfer saga would have understood that the gesture was nothing short of a farewell.

And now, speaking to pundit Gary Neville, the England international has opened the transfer doors claiming that he is ready to fight for titles while competing against the best in the business.

Kane told Gary Neville on his YouTube show, The Overlap, as per Sky Sports: “I don’t want to come to the end of my career and have any regrets. I want to be the best I can be.

“I never said I’d stay at Spurs for the rest of my career and I’ve never said I’d leave Spurs. People might say, ‘he’s desperate for trophies, he needs trophies’, but I feel like I’ve still got almost another career to play.

“I’ve got seven, eight years, kind of what I’ve already had in the Premier League. So I’m not rushing anything, I’m not desperate to do anything. I’ve still got so much more to give. I can produce better numbers than I’m producing at the moment.

“I’m not afraid to say, ‘I want to be the best’. I want to try and get on the level Ronaldo and Messi got to. That’s my ultimate goal – to be winning trophies season in, season out, scoring 50, 60, 70 goals season in, season out.

“The pressure from myself is always bigger than anything anyone else can put on me.

“I want to be playing in the biggest games. This season, I’m watching the Champions League and the English teams doing amazing, and they’re the games I want to be involved in.

“It’s a moment in my career where I have to reflect and see where I’m at. Ultimately it’s going to be down to me, how I feel and what’s going to be the best for me and my career.”

Harry Kane was supposed to leave last summer but the appointment of Jose Mourinho halted that for at least one season. Now with Jose Mourinho gone and Spurs in a totally dismal state, there’s very little hope that Daniel Levy will be able to convince the forward to stay at the club for one more year.

Tottenham are nowhere close to challenging for the Premier League title and they are not even going to play in the Champions League next season. And in such a scenario, Kane is bound to head for the exit doors in the summer.

With the Euros coming up, Levy still has some time to try and convince the 27-year-old to stay but with clubs like Man United, Chelsea and Manchester City interested in signing him, it will be really hard for Spurs to hold onto their most prized asset.
