Man United managed only a 0-0 draw against Wolves in the FA Cup but now it looks like Harry Maguire might have picked up a serious injury during the match.
Midway through the first-half Harry Maguire looked to be limping and had even signalled to the bench – hinting at a possible change.
But somehow the defender managed to get through till half-time and everyone was sure that Phil Jones would come to replace him.
Sadly that was not the case as Maguire managed to play the full game – a move that might not have been too well though off.
Speaking after the match, Solskjaer admitted that the injury to his star defender might be a concern which has now put him in doubt for the League Cup clash against arch-rivals Manchester City.
“I don’t know,” the boss said when asked by BT Sport via the club’s official website.
“We were close to taking him off at half-time, but he battled through. Let’s see how he recovers. We hope so.
“We were not sure if he should continue in the second half, but he was adamant he was going to be OK.
“He struggled a little bit but let’s see how he’ll recover. It’s not many days, it’s Sunday, Monday and then we go again Tuesday.”
If Harry Maguire cannot be fit in time for the Manchester Derby then Ole will surely have major headaches since the England international and Lindelof have managed to forge together a formidable partnership this season.
Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo and Axel Tunazebe are all out with injuries meaning if Maguire is absent then it will be Phil Jones who will play in central defence alongside Lindelof.
