Jadon Sancho wanted by Man United
Jadon Sancho is one of the players who is expected to make a move back to the Premier League this summer

Chelsea have been keeping an eye on Dortmund’s young sensation Jadon Sancho who also happens to be a target for fellow Premier League rivals Manchester United.

Man United manager Ole Solskjaer has been chasing Sancho for months now and the Red Devils, up until a few weeks ago, were said to be the favourites to sign the England international.

But over the past couple of weeks, Chelsea’s interest in Sancho seems to have risen and some rumours have been claiming that Frank Lampard is ready to battle Man United for the signature of the 20-year-old winger.

While the Old Trafford outfit are still said to be the frontrunners but this situation has been great news for Borussia Dortmund since they can now hold onto their initial demands of £100 million.

Have Chelsea back out from signing Jadon Sancho?

Now it seems like Chelsea are starting to realize that getting their hands on Jadon Sancho might not be as easy as it looks which is why they have selected an alternative in the form of Villareal winger Samuel Chukwueze.

The report claims: “Chelsea are reportedly stepping up their pursuit of wingers in the transfer market this summer and have identified Samuel Chukwueze as a potential target if they fail in a bid to land Jadon Sancho.

“Sancho has emerged as a star for Borussia Dortmund and England this season, but the Blues face stiff competition from the likes of Manchester United for the 20-year-old who has been rated at £90million.

“Should a pursuit for the forward fall through then focus is set to shift to Chukwueze according to Goal.”

This is not the first time Chelsea have been linked with the Nigerian international but now they seem to be giving this transfer a serious consideration.

Samuel Chukwueze has three years left on his current deal with Villarreal but the Spanish club will let him leave for a fee of around £45 million which is perfect for the Stamford Bridge outfit.

This shift in focus from Chelsea is great news for Manchester United who have always kept Jadon Sancho at the top of their transfer wishlist.

Jadon Sancho has scored 14 goals and provided 17 assists in 26 Bundesliga games this season while Chukwueze has managed just three goals and a further three assists in 26 first-flight games in Spain.
