Rangers FC are already playing catch up with Celtic in the Premiership but they will have the chance to overtake them this weekend.

The Gers take on their local rivals in the Old Firm Derby on Saturday and a win for them will put them on top of the table. While Rangers have won seven of their last eight matches in the Premiership but they don’t have the best of recent records against Celtic.

In their previous four meeting in all competitions, Rangers FC have beaten the Bhoys only once.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has several injury concerns going into this match but thankfully, he got the chance to rest his regular starters in midweek for the League Cup tie.

Rangers’ team news and injuries:

Kemar Roofe is recovering from an injury but as per the latest reports, he’s returned to training this week. However, he is not expected to be fully ready for the Old Firm Derby because the last thing the manager will want is to put someone on the pitch who’s not 100% fit.

Filip Helander is another player who is expected to return to training this week but he too won’t be ready in time for Saturday’s encounter.

The likes of Goldson, Tavernier, McLaughlin and Sands were all rested in midweek so they will come back into the side.

The biggest boost for the Rangers FC is Glen Kamara’s return from injury. The midfielder played 89 minutes vs Queen of the South and he will most certainly feature in the starting line up against Celtic.

Alfredo Morelos has fallen down the pecking order so it’s highly unlikely the manager is going to use him up front. Antonio Colak is ahead of him in the pecking order right now.

The manager has claimed that he’s seen a change in attitude in the Colombian but we doubt if he will be handed a start on Saturday.

Rangers FC predicted line up vs Celtic:

Predicted Starting XI(4-3-3): McLaughlin; Tavernier, Sands, Goldson, Barisic; Kamara, Lundstram, Lawrence; Colak, Tillman, Ryan Kent.
