Celtic won the 2018-19 SPFL trophy and which meant it was another domestic clean sweep for the Bhoys.
The major chunk of the SPFL season was overseen by Brendan Rodgers and after he left it was Neil Lennon who guided Celtic for the remainder of the campaign.
On the other hand, Rangers despite making a large number of signing last summer failed to make any significant dent on their Old Firm rivals as Gerrard’s men ended the season on the second spot – nine points behind the Bhoys.
While many pundits have predicted that the Gers will be able to challenge Celtic for the SPFL title during the 2019-20 season but we doubt if they can actually dethrone Lennon’s men.
Gerrard is expected to make a couple of new signings during the summer transfer window but he is also gearing up to loose a few of his significant players.
And if the likes of Alfredo Morelos and James Tavernier do head for greener pastures then it will be really hard for the Teddy Bears to bring in suitable replacements for them – at least during this transfer window.
Now the SPFL have released the full list of fixtures for the 2019-20 season and it is set to be a potboiler from the very first month.
Last campaign, the first Old Firm Derby of the season was played in the month of September but this time around it has been brought to August – on the very same day the summer transfer window comes to an end.
