Rangers FC appointed Steven Gerrard as their new boss during the summer and since then the confidence graph amongst the fans have gone up every single day.

The Light Blues have so far signed 12 new players during the summer transfer window and before the window closes down on Friday more players are set to arrive at the club.

And now one of the new arrivals have revealed what Steven Gerrard had told them before the start of the 2018-19 season.

Defender Jon Flanagan who arrived at Rangers from Liverpool during the summer has said that his former teammate and current manager laid down the importance of European football before the new season began.

Flanagan said“When I spoke to the gaffer before I signed, he had the idea of European football. He had the same conversation with all the other signings,

“We are all together as one and we want to be in this European competition.

“You cannot beat a European night during the week, those nights are fantastic and you travel all over the world.”

Rangers are now just one step away from getting into the Europa League and if they manage to beat FC Ufa in the second leg of the playoffs then the Light Blues will gain entry into the group stages which in turn will be a huge boost for the finances of the club.
