Rangers FC brought in Ryan Kent from Liverpool on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool. And the youngster has highly impressed Steven Gerrard.

During the 2018-19 season, Ryan Kent has played in 39 games for the Gers scoring six goals and making nine assists making him one of the most important players in the Rangers squad.

But the sad part for the manager is that the winger is scheduled to head back to Liverpool at the end of the season.

While some reports have claimed that Steven Gerrard is trying his best to bring Ryan Kent back for one more loan spell, but now it looks like the boss has changed his mind.

Reports have suggested Rangers are planning to make a move a permanent move for the 22-year-old but former Gers man Ally McCoist believes, the club have led to their own downfall.

He told The Record: “Since coming back from his injury lay-off he’s been terrific and for me, he was the best player on the park against Celtic.

“I’d imagine if there’s any way Steven could keep him, he’d be desperate to do so.

“However, it looks like another loan deal is the only way it could happen. His performances might just have priced Rangers out the market for him.

“I might be wrong but I think Rangers’ best chance of keeping him would be a loan deal for next season.”

Right now, rumours have it that Liverpool will let Ryan Kent leave if someone is willing to pay £12 million for the winger.

And this is an amount which Rangers will surely find it hard to shell out.
