Tottenham Hotspur beat Ajax in sensational fashion in the semi-final of the Champions League and now Spurs will play vs Liverpool in the final showdown in Madrid.

Most pundits have predicted that Liverpool will go into this final as favourites to win the trophy but according to former Spurs man Darren Anderton that might not be the case.

The ex-England feels that the Anfield outfit will be under more pressure during the final and Spurs have the attacking guile to hurt Jurgen Klopp’s men.

“I think Tottenham will win the Champions League Final. All the pressure is on Liverpool to win and that will play into Tottenham’s hands,” Anderton told Sportingbet.

After the incredible run that Tottenham have had in the Champions League this season, I would back them to bring the trophy home.

“Liverpool are favourites for obvious reasons, but it certainly feels that Spurs name is on the trophy; they’ve had an incredible run. When it comes down to a one-off match, I would back Spurs on the day against anyone. It should be a great final and I think Spurs will edge it 2-1.

“It was Lucas Moura’s Semi-Final heroics that got Spurs to the final and I do think he’ll start the final with Dele Alli playing deeper.

“Kane needs to start, Son has been a revelation this season, and Eriksen is the one, for me, who really makes everything tick for Spurs in terms of creating chances.

“I think Dele could play a deeper role, some will argue that in doing so, you don’t get the best out of him and it could leave Tottenham quite exposed to Liverpool’s incredible front three.

“Ultimately, it is the front players on both teams that will make the difference, the attacking players on each team have the individual ability that can win the game and I think Tottenham just about edge Liverpool in that department.”

While some say Spurs will play the final without too much pressure since they have nothing to lose. But we have a feeling, the opposite might just end up being true since Pochettino and his boys have a golden opportunity to shed the bottlers tag.
