Manchester United superstar Alexis Sanchez will miss the team’s trip to the St Mary’s Stadium this week – the club have confirmed.

Alexis Sanchez was dropped from the matchday squad against Young Boys despite being fit and now the forward will spent a couple of weeks on the sidelines.

The club have confirmed that Sanchez picked up a hamstring injury in training on Thursday.

The injury means Alexis Sanchez will miss the game against Southampton and also next week’s clash vs his former club Arsenal.

This injury though will have some serious implications on Alexis Sanchez’s possible move out of the club in January.

Reports have suggested the forward wants to move out of the club after he was snubbed for the Champions League encounter and has his eyes set on a move to Ligue 1 giants PSG.

Alexis Sanchez moved to Manchester United at the start of the new year but since then the forward has endured a tough time at Old Trafford.

He has been unable to win the trust of Jose Mourinho and now the former Arsenal man wants to move out as quickly as possible.

But now the injury might cause a serious setback to Alexis Sanchez’s transfer plans with initial reports claiming that the player will be out for a couple of weeks.

While PSG are the only club that have been linked with the Chilean but it remains to be seen whether the Paris outfit will make a move for Alexis Sanchez during the middle of the season.

Manchester United take on Southampton away from home this weekend in the Premier League following which they welcome Arsenal at home next midweek.
