Arsenal finally managed to sign left-back Kieran Tierney from Scottish side Celtic FC on deadline day.

The Gunners had been trying to sign the youngster ever since the end of the previous season but each time the Bhoys rejected the offers from Arsenal claiming they had to shell out more if they wished to sign the youngster.

But finally, Celtic caved in and let Kieran Tierney have his dream move as the Premier League side announced the signing on the final day of the transfer window.

The official statement read: “Scottish international Kieran Tierney has joined us from Celtic on a long-term deal.

“The 22-year-old was born in the Isle of Man and had been with his boyhood club since the age of seven. He made 170 appearances for Celtic and has played 12 times for Scotland.

“The defender completed a medical at London Colney on Thursday and will immediately join-up with his new teammates. He will wear the No 3 shirt.”

As per the reports, the first offer made by Arsenal was in the region of £15 million which was immediately rejected by Celtic claiming they wanted nothing less than £25 million for Kieran Tierney

Then finally there were reports that Neil Lennon side had accepted an offer of around £18 million with the rest being in add-ons.

Now though the Premiership club have officially confirmed that Arsenal have actually paid the amount which they had initially asked and the full payment has been upfront.

As per the report: “The champions confirmed they had banked their biggest-ever transfer fee for a player by announcing it to the London Stock exchange yesterday.

“The notification from Celtic proves they received the full amount for their player in a solitary payment.”

This will certainly please the Celtic fans since they had been fearing that their clubs might have given in to the pressure with some rumours claiming that Kieran Tierney had handed in a transfer request in order to join the Gunners.

But it seems that the Glasgow outfit hung onto their demands and finally squeezed out the amount which they had always demanded for the transfer of Kieran Tierney.
