Tammy Abraham Chelsea news

Tammy Abraham has been the main striker for Chelsea during the 2019-20 season and since the Blues could not bring in a new striker last month, it seems like this arrangement will last until the end of the season.

The youngster has so far played in 24 Premier League games for the Blues and has found the back of the net 13 times but most of those came during the first half of the season.

During the past couple of matches, the goals seemed to have dried up for the forward which is why the Blues were looking to bring in Edinson Cavani in January.

Now though with Cavani remaining at PSG, Tammy Abraham will have to shoulder all the goal-scoring pressure for Chelsea for the remainder of the season which could be a really tough ask especially since the Blues have some really tough games lined up.

But while pundits and fans are sceptical about all the pressure that’s being put on 22-year-old, Abraham is surely relishing the chance to shine.

He told the club’s official website: ‘I can’t complain. It’s been a great season for me so far. I would like to push on.

‘There are massive games coming up, in the Champions League also.

‘Playing for a club like Chelsea there is always going to be pressure. For me, it’s about being in the right place at the right time and believing in myself and my abilities.

‘I’m sure I will score a few more. I like the pressure.

‘As a team, we’ve had a lot of ups and downs. We started off well, we had a spell where we were losing a bit, and now we’re starting to pick up again.

‘This break will do us good because we have some massive games coming up. We need to be ready for them and prepare ourselves.

‘I’m definitely in favour of the winter break. It’s a chance to reflect and forget about football for a week and come back all guns blazing.

‘Mentally and physically, we all need this after a long, hard first few months of the season. It gets to the point where people start to get leggy and there are a few injuries coming. Now we can take time off and recover our bodies and our minds.’
