Last season it was the Mo Salah show at Liverpool while everyone else took a back seat and let the Egyptian work his magic.

But this season, fellow forward Sadio Mane has shouldered a lot of responsibility for the Reds and right now he is one of the best forward in the Premier League.

During the 2018-19 campaign, Sadio Mane has played in 28 league games managing to score 16 goals which is a staggering number given the fact the 26-year-old is not a natural goal scorer.

And right before Liverpool take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League at the Allianz Arena Liverpool legend Gary Gillespie has provided a solution through which opponents might just be able to stop Sadio Mane.

“I would have let someone else kick him!” Gillespie told Ian Stone’s Comedy Breakfast.

“He’s been fantastic this season, I think that’s his highest goal tally for Liverpool and he does look a threat. They are so versatile up front.

“Sadio Mane is thought of as a left or right winger but he can play anywhere along that front line. To be fair I think all three of them can.

“Firmino has had a little bit of a quieter season, certainly Salah has had a quieter season, but Mane he’s come to the fore and really has probably been out of the three of them the most consistent and the best.”

Sadio Mane is one of those rare players who has a great turn and is also blessed with vicious pace and the combination of both really helps the Senegal international pull the strings on the left flank.

The winger signed a contract extension in November of last year which means Sadio Mane will not stay with the Anfield outfit until 2023 – hopefully.
