Milan Skriniar Inter Milan
21.07.2018. Италия, Пиза. Третий «Газпром» — тренировочный сбор: товарищеский матч «Интер» — «Зенит».

Milan Skriniar has been in fine form for Inter Milan this season having already played 24 matches in the Serie A. But if various reports in Italy are to be believed then the player could be on his way out.

Skriniar joined Inter Milan from Sampdoria in 2017 and this year he has had a superb partnership in central defence alongside Stefan de Vrij. While Inter are very happy with the defender right now but they have still set an asking price for him.

Up until now, Arsenal were said to be the only club interested in signing the 25-year-old but as per Calciomercato, Manchester City seemed to have joined the race to land the defender.

The report claims: “As of late, Milan Skriniar has attracted the interest of several clubs, amid doubts of his future at Inter under the guidance of Antonio Conte.

“Above all, Manchester City have been linked with the centre-back, having been on his trail for quite some time now.

“In the summer, the English side are expected to make a new attempt for the Slovakian, per the latest developments. Even in the event of Champions League exclusion, they could present a new offer, perhaps inserting one or two technical counterparts that would please Conte.”

Will the Inter Milan defender snub Man City to join Arsenal?

Inter Milan reportedly want £80 million for the services of Skriniar but the Gunners were hoping to bring that down via a series of talks over the next couple of weeks.

Now though all those plans might have gone to waste since Manchester City have the financial backing needed to sign the centre-back during the summer.

The player still has three years left on his current deal at the club meaning Inter are in no hurry to sell him off which is the main reason why the Italian side will not look to lower their asking price for the defender.

Man City need a new centre-back since John Stones has been really poor this season and since they intend to challenge Liverpool for the league title once again, Guardiola will not shy away from spending big in the summer.

So as things stand, Arsenal are on the back foot in signing the Inter Milan defender and if Man City are actually serious, there’s nothing Mikel Arteta can do about it.
