Chelsea Mason Mount Olivier Giroud

Inter Milan are still interested in signing Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud during the summer transfer window – as per reports.

The Serie A side wanted to sign the striker during the January transfer window and they had moved pretty close to signing him but in the end, the deal did not go through.

Frank Lampard had made it clear that Olivier Giroud will not be stopped from moving out but the deal collapsed because the Blues could not bring in a new striker at the start of the year.

Now though it seems like Inter Milan still want to sign the World Cup winner and will try and make a fresh move for him during the summer.

The Nerazzurri could lose Lautaro Martinez during the summer since the forward has been a transfer target for Barcelona while Alexis Sanchez is also expected to return back to Manchester United at the end of the season.

So in such a scenario, Antonio Conte is badly in need of fresh faces and Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud could be one of them.

Will Frank Lampard let Olivier Giroud leave?

Before the January transfer window ended, Olivier Giroud had played only a couple of games for Chelsea this season so it was no secret that the player was ready to be sold.

But since then a lot of things have changed especially with the injury to Tammy Abraham and the poor form of Michy Batshuayi.

With Abraham injured, Olivier Giroud has stepped up for Chelsea and he now seems to be a key player of Frank Lampard.

And while some people think that the manager might offer the forward a new deal to the forward but we don’t think this will happen and Olivier Giroud will be allowed to leave as a free agent.

Lampard will most certainly bring in some new players during the summer transfer window meaning Olivier Giroud will once again fall down the pecking order.

So in such a scenario, we don’t think the forward will hang around in England for one more season in order to play some second fiddle games for Chelsea.
