Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is going to leave in the summer and Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou is one of the strong contenders to replace the German.

Klopp’s exit has come as a shock to most fans but the club’s management has been aware for a long time and they are already shortlisting the names who they will approach in the coming months.

Liverpool want to secure a replacement as early as possible and the way Spurs are playing under Ange Postecoglou, it’s not a surprise that the Australian is on the Reds’ radar.

The 58-year-old has managed 27 games at Tottenham and in such a short period, he’s been able to bring in a very entertaining style of play amongst his squad. Spurs sat at the top of the Premier League table for several weeks and right now, they are fourth, just seven points behind league leaders Liverpool.

He’s contracted until 2027 and a call from Liverpool will be very hard to resist, however, according to The Telegraph, Spurs are very confident they will be able to hold onto Ange.

Postecoglou’s contract with Spurs is filled with various bonuses and pay rises which Tottenham feel will be enough to keep him at the club and reject an approach from the Reds.

Ange Postecoglou has no signs of discontent with life in North London and we are also sure that his contract is very lucrative but if he wants to join Liverpool, it won’t be for the money. No doubt Tottenham are one of the biggest clubs in Europe but there’s no denying that taking charge of Liverpool right after Jurgen Klopp will be a big step up for the former Celtic manager.

The Liverpool management wants to bring in someone who can carry on Klopp’s legacy and Ange’s style of play at Spurs comes very close to that.

The Anfield outfit are also looking at other managers like Xabi Alonso, Roberto De Zerbi and Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim but unlike all of them, Ange Postecoglou has already settled down properly in the Premier League. Liverpool have always been on the rise since Klopp took charge so the last time the owners will want is to go into a really long rebuilding phase.

Alonso and Amorim have done really well in their respective leagues but there’s no guarantee they will come in and find success at Anfield.
