Bernardo Silva has been tipped to leave Manchester City and as per reports, Real Madrid are the latest club who have shown an interest in signing him.

Clubs like Bayern Munich, PSG and Arsenal are also keeping tabs on Silva’s situation but the midfielder reportedly wants to move to Spain meaning Real Madrid and Barcelona are the two probable destinations.

Barcelona have a long-standing interest in Bernardo Silva but their financial woes are an open secret and if they cannot gather funds, there’s no way they will be able to go after the Portugal international.

Bernardo Silva has been a great servant for Manchester City joining them in 2017 from AS Monaco and to date, he’s played in close to 350 games for the Premier League club. This season, he’s scored 12 and assisted 5 goals across all competitions and Guardiola will not like losing such an important player.

Silva’s contract expires in 2026 and Manchester City are more than willing to offer him a new deal but the midfielder is eager to find a new challenge at the end of this season.

He’s also been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League but Bernardo Silva wishes to stay in Europe and Real Madrid could be the ideal destination. Luke Modric is out of contract at Madrid in the summer and Silva can be the perfect replacement for the Croatian wizard.

Madrid already have a host of midfielders amongst their ranks but Bernardo Silva, apart from playing in midfield, can also play out wide which is a great asset. This season, he’s played 14 games as a No 10 and 17, as a right-winger.

Pep Guardiola will obviously try and hold onto the 29-year-old but deep down, even he knows that he is going to leave which is why Manchester City are already out in the market for a new attack-minded midfielder.

Bernardo Silva would prefer a move to Barcelona over Real Madrid but he has a £50 million release clause which was included in his contract last summer and this is a big hurdle for Barca. Madrid, on the other hand, won’t have any issues paying this amount.
