Lille’s 21-year-old defensive midfielder Boubakary Soumare has been scouted by a number of big Premier League clubs and there’s a prominent chance that the player could be on his way to England.
Clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool and most recently Arsenal have been keeping tabs on the player and according to Lille president Gerrard Lopez, Boubakary Soumare is free to leave – if the right offer comes by.
Lopez told Telefoot Chaine (via TEAMtalk): “I am going to sit down with the players and their entourages this week.
“We need to sit down with the players and speak. In terms of Boubakary, as we play with two in the midfield… The door is open if he wants to leave.
“We have had important offers from clubs where he did not want to go.
“All three parties have to agree for a transfer to occur… He’s quite impatient to play and that’s normal. It shows ambition.
“He will undoubtedly leave the club, the door is open. We have concrete offers. We will talk in the coming days.”
Will Boubakary Soumare move to the Premier League?
At this point in time, Boubakary Soumare is not the first-choice transfer target for either of the three Premier League clubs but with the way things are panning out, there’s a big chance that one of these sides could make a move for him pretty soon.
Man United and Liverpool have been linked with Thiago Alcantara and as soon as either one of them misses out on the Bayern Munich man they will swiftly turn their focus to the Lille man.
Arsenal are also trying to get Thomas Partey on board but right now the Gunners are not able to pay the release clause for the player.
But valued at just £22.05 million(as per TransferMarkt), Boubakary Soumare could be the perfect alternative to the Atletico Madrid man.
