Arsenal have shown interest in signing Nicolas Tagliafico from Ajax and as per The Sun, the full-back has an agreement to leave the club at the end of this season. And this news is surely not great for young Bukayo Saka.

The report claims: “ARSENAL are chasing Ajax star Nicolas Tagliafico in a £20m deal – as Mikel Arteta searches for a new left-back.

“He has been watched by a number of clubs over the last few seasons, including Chelsea, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Tagliafico is open to a move to the Emirates and believed to want to test himself in the Premier League next season.

“On top of this, he has an agreement with Ajax to let him leave this summer, as long as an acceptable offer comes in.”

Tagliafico joined Ajax in 2018 from Argentinian side Independiente and this season, the left-back had netted three and assisted four goals in 24 Eredivisie matches before the league was suspended.

Is Bukayo Saka on his way to Liverpool?

This interest in the Ajax full-back has led many people to believe that Arsenal might be looking to offload Bukayo Saka in the summer.

The youngster has been one of the break-through performers for the Gunners this season and as per some rumours, he has refused to sign a new deal at the club, amidst really strong interest from league leaders Liverpool.

And with Arteta looking for a new left-back there’s every chance Saka might be heading to Anfield in the summer.

But as per the latest updates, Mikel Arteta has no plans in parting ways with the youngster. It’s just that, the Arsenal boss wants to use the player in his natural position.

The 18-year-old is a winger by trade but this season he has been used as a makeshift left-back thanks to the injuries to Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac. And the purpose of a new left-back will be to try and use Bukayo Saka further up the pitch.

This is not particularly great news for Liverpool who are eager to land the youngster in the summer but Jurgen Klopp does have hope until the England U19 international agrees to a new deal at Arsenal.
