Unlike the previous season, Casemiro has failed to make an impact this time around which is why Manchester United are now ready to sell him off.

Last season, the Brazilian midfielder was one of the most impactful players in the Manchester United squad but his performance levels have dropped drastically this time around. Clubbed with injury woes, Casemiro has been able to feature in only eight Premier League games so far.

The 31-year-old is one of highest paid players in the Premier League right now and he still has three and a half years left on his deal which is why the new minority owners of the club think it is best to get him off their books as soon as the current season comes to an end.

His performances have been on a steady decline and he’s not getting any younger so it makes no sense to hold onto him for two more seasons.

Casemiro is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League and as per some rumours, Cristiano Ronaldo has told the Al-Nassr management to bring his ex-Madrid teammate to the club in the summer.

The kind of wages that Casemiro is earning at Man United can only be matched by the Saudi clubs and if Al-Nassr is seriously interested in him then this is the ideal time for United to get rid of the midfielder.

Academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo is likely going to be the long-term successor to the Brazilian and if the youngster can consistently perform in the second half of the season then Ten Hag won’t have to spend even a penny to bring in a replacement.

Mason Mount and Mainoo can very easily play in the central roles and if this pairing can sync up before the end of the season, Man United can afford to get rid of Casemiro as well as Christian Eriksen.

Based on the first half of the season, the Brazilian’s time at Old Trafford is more or less over but if he can revive his performances during the second half, the United management can very easily chance their decision to sell him. He returned from his injury and was an unused sub in the Tottenham game which means he should be getting a lot more game time in the coming weeks.
