Cristiano Ronaldo has just announced that his baby boy has sadly passed away so this is a moment of massive grief for the Ronaldo family.

The forward put out this sad news via a social media post that read: “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away.

“It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.

“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”

Condolences have been pouring in from almost every corner of the footballing world and it looks like Cristiano Ronaldo will be given some time off.

Will Cristiano Ronaldo miss the trip to Anfield?

CR7 will be allowed to spend time with his family so he’s likely to miss the Liverpool vs Manchester United tie.

United will obviously not push the forward to be a part of a match during such difficult times and this will be a major issue for Ralf Rangnick’s team selection.

Edinson Cavani is already out of action with a calf injury and now with Cristiano Ronaldo also likely to be absent, Manchester United will look absolutely toothless against Liverpool.

There’s no official confirmation about Ronaldo’s absence on Tuesday but there’s very little chance that Ronaldo will step out on the pitch just 24 hours after such an incident.

How will Rangnick replace Cristiano Ronaldo at Anfield?

If Ronaldo misses out then there’s a big chance that the Man United boss will use a false-nine formation.

Rashford has the ability to play as a centre-forward but the England international has been in really poor form this season so Rangnick will use the safer option to field either Bruno or Pogba as the false-nine.

Without Cristiano Ronaldo, it’s will be almost impossible for Man United to beat Liverpool but these are testing times for CR7 and his family so a 90-minute match is the least of concerns for everyone.
