Kyle Lafferty
Kyle Lafferty to Rangers

Striker Alfredo Morelos was one of the shining stars for Rangers FC last season and this season too the Colombian has retained his fine goalscoring form.

While Morelos has missed a few games will red card suspensions but still, the striker has managed to rake in an impressive seven goals in 15 appearances.

And now former Rangers star Lee McCulloch has claimed that it is actually Kyle Lafferty who is helping Alfredo Morelos score so many goals for Rangers.

Writing for his column in the Evening Standard, McCulloch said: “Kyle Lafferty has been a great help to him

“The two are great as a pair. It’s been great to watch them click so well and so early.

“Morelos on his day is a real star for this Rangers team and, again, it’s impossible not to praise Steven Gerard and his coaching staff for getting the best out of their Colombian.

“Most of the credit goes to the man himself who is working hard and even smiling. No matter his manager described Morelos’s performance on Sunday as ‘stunning'”

Lafferty himself has scored four goals in seven games for Rangers this season and the senior pro has worked out a superb partnership with Alfredo Morelos.

Before Lafferty signed for Rangers during the summer, manager Steven Gerrard had mostly been playing Alfredo Morelos as the lone striker but since Lafferty joined the club, the boss has shifted to a 3-5-2 formation.

And this shift in formation has clearly worked wonders for both Kyle Lafferty and Alfredo Morelos.
