Premier League sides Manchester City and Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Kylian Mbappe but the winger’s latest decision won’t go down too well with the English clubs.

Mbappe’s current contract with PSG expires in the summer and he is reluctant to sign an extension with the Ligue 1 side. Some of the biggest clubs in Europe want to bring him on board but according to journalist Rudy Galetti, the French international has ruled out a move to the Premier League.

Kylian Mbappe is well aware of all the clubs who wish to sign him but he is not keen to move to England. The winger would much rather join Real Madrid or sign a new extension with PSG.

Real Madrid made significant efforts to sign him last summer and are set to pursue him again at the end of this season. Perez has been orchestrating a move for Erling Haaland in the event of Kylian Mbappe rejecting an approach but now that the Frenchman has turned down a move to the English Premier League, Real Madrid will have renewed hopes.

PSG has already offered him a new contract, valid until the summer of 2027, and after this news, they will also be optimistic about retaining their marquee player.

The blow however has been dealt to Liverpool and Manchester City who had high hopes of landing the 25-year-old. Liverpool wanted Kylian Mbappe to replace Mo Salah while Pep Guardiola has been viewing Mbappe as the replacement for Erling Haaland.

As per a report by French outlet Le Parisien on Saturday, Kylian Mbappe has decided to join Real Madrid in the summer which, if true, is a big sigh of relief for Manchester City because if the Frenchman is on his way to the Bernabeu then Ancelotti’s side will ditch their interest in Erling Haaland. Haaland is reportedly not happy with life in England and this was possibly because Madrid’s interest in him. However, now that Mbappe is going to join Real Madrid, no other club can afford to sign the Norwegian international.

Liverpool are on the brink of losing Salah to the Saudi Pro League so Mbappe’s move to Spain will be a major blow to their summer transfer plans. Le Parisien is a very reliable source when it comes to news from the Ligue 1 which means the Anfield outfit will now have to shift their focus to their alternative targets like Michael Olise and Jarrod Bowen.
