Premier League sides Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea have the opportunity to sign Espanyol striker Martin Braithwaite, claims reports.

Martin Braithwaite spent two years with Barcelona where he scored 10 goals in 58 appearances for the club. In 2022, he then moved to Espanyol and this season, he has scored 11 goals in 21 league appearances for the club.

Both the London sides along with Man United are on the lookout for a new centre-forward and since Braithwaite is reportedly available for around just £5 million, he will be a lucrative target.

His time at Camp Nou was a massive disaster but this season, he’s pulled up his socks and has been scoring a flurry of goals for Espanyol. At this price point, he will be a really good backup option for clubs like Chelsea and Man United.

Arsenal want to bring in a new centre-forward this month but they are refusing to sell Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah which is why Mikel Arteta won’t need someone like Martin Braithwaite. If the Gunners can bring in a new world-class forward then Jesus will act as the backup and if they can’t then sign someone then Jesus and Nketiah will have to hold the fort.

Man United and Chelsea can however put the 32-year-old to good use on a short-term spell. Chelsea are without a top-class striker plus they are ready to let go of Armando Broja so Pochettino can do with a player like Braithwaite who can fill up the gaps in the not-so-important matches.

Man United, on the other hand, have a young and promising talent in the form of Rasmus Hojlund but the summer signing has found it really hard to score goals. Last season, Ten Hag had brought in Wout Weghorst as a patch-up signing so it won’t be a surprise if the MUFC manager green-light’s this move as well.

Martin Braithwaite is well past his prime so there’s no way he will dream of leading the line all on his own at one of these major clubs but he could still be moving to the Premier League this month.

It’s being claimed that along with Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal, clubs like Wolves, Fulham and West Ham United have also been offered Braithwaite’s services and while the bigger boys will hesitate and think twice before going after the Danish international, the mid-table teams will be more than happy to bring Martin Braithwaite on board for such a minimal fee.
