La Liga giants FC Barcelona might be trying to replace Lionel Messi with Liverpool’s Senegalese forward Sadio Mane, according to the latest rumours.
Messi reportedly wants to head out of Barcelona this summer and this news has caused a major frenzy in the footballing world over the last couple of days. Now according to a report in Tuttomercato, Barca might be trying to replace the Argentine with Sadio Mane.
The report claims: “According to latest TMW rumours, Senegalese star frontline all-rounder Sadio Mané (28), coming from four very successful seasons spent playing for Liverpool, has been offered, through his entourage, to Barcelona FC, ahead of the club parting ways with both Leo Messi and Luis Suarez.
“Meant to be transferred on an about 85 million euros fee, former Southampton and Salzburg fender is still on a deal with Reds until June 2023.”
Will Sadio Mane replace Lionel Messi at Barcelona?
Mane’s current contract with Liverpool expires in 2023 and Jurgen Klopp has been eager to make him sign a new deal at the club.
Sadio Mane would be interested in moving to Barcelona to link back up with Ronald Koeman.
He would cost €120m. He agreed a deal with Real Madrid a while back but #LFC prevented him from leaving according to @Sport_EN. https://t.co/NDyCus2Tip

But up until now, the winger has pushed away contract talks which to some, is an indication that the 28-year-old wishes to leave if a good enough offer comes his way.
And if he does indeed get the chance to replace someone like Lionel Messi at Barcelona, there’s every chance he might hand in a transfer request at Anfield pretty soon.
Having said this, the exit rumours of Lionel Messi are still in its early stages and until Barcelona are absolutely certain that the Argentine wishes to leave, they will not make a concrete move for Sadio Mane.
