Arsenal are looking to bring in a new centre-back during the summer transfer window and they are looking at West Ham United defender Issa Diop – as per reports.
The 23-year-old defender joined West Ham United from Toulouse in the summer of 2018 for a reported fee of 25 million euros and this season he has played in 23 Premier League games for the Hammers.
And it looks like Arsenal are planning to make a move for the defender as soon as the season comes to an end.
This though is not the first time that Issa Diop has attracted interest from a top Premier League club since a couple of seasons ago, Manchester United had also been linked with him but back then the Hammers were successful in holding onto their player.
And this time too they will be hoping to fend off interest from Arsenal primarily since the player is under contract at the club till 2023 so right now, West Ham United are in no hurry to sell him off.
And as far as Arsenal are concerned, they have brought in Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares in January but clearly Mikel Arteta wants to keep his options open for the upcoming season.

While it’s still not clear whether the Gunners will actually make a move for Issa Diop but we are pretty sure that the Arsenal boss will bring in some fresh faces in defence since the likes of David Luiz and Mustafi have been really unconvincing this season.
TransferMarkt currently values Issa Diop at €35 million but since the defender still has two years left in his contract surely West Ham United are going to quote something much more than that.
