Winger Ivan Perisic has attracted interest from clubs like Chelsea and Juventus but according to The Independent’s Miguel Delaney, the winger has opted for a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 33-year-old is set to become a free agent in the summer and Thomas Tuchel was particularly keen to bring him on board. However, he has chosen to reunite with Antonio Conte by agreeing to a two-year deal with Spurs.

Ivan Perisic has been an influential player for Inter since joining them in 2015 and in these seven years, he has scored 45 goals in over 250 matches for the club. This past season, he was involved in as many as 15 goals in 35 league appearances.

The terms of the deal are more or less final and the winger is expected to make a final call on Monday morning. Inter are still waiting for his official decision but they have more or less accepted that he will be departing the club and also the Serie A.

Is Ivan Perisic going to be a big miss for Chelsea?

Thomas Tuchel is expected to sell several underperforming forwards this summer so a player like Ivan Perisic would have been an excellent addition to the squad, especially since he is going to be a free agent.

The likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Pulisic have all been average in the previous season and if the manager chooses to sell all three of them then he has to bring in at least two reinforcements.

Chelsea do have money to spend in this transfer window but it would have been a tremendous bargain deal if they had been able to get someone like Ivan Perisic on a free transfer.

Has Ivan Perisic done the right thing by choosing a move to Spurs?

At Spurs, he will face competition from Son because like the South Korean, Perisic also plays on the left wing but the main reason why he has chosen Spurs over Chelsea or Juventus is due to Antonio Conte.

The pair share a good relationship from their Inter days and since Conte has decided to remain at Spurs, he’s attracting all the big-name players.

The 33-year-old might not be able to play each and every week at Tottenham but he will get a lot of game time because Spurs have qualified for the Champions League plus they are expected to seriously challenge for the cup competitions as well.
