Chelsea will try and sign this unwanted Man City forward: A player who can do wonders at the Bridge?

According to Simon Phillips, Chelsea might look to sign England international Jack Grealish from Manchester City in the summer.

Man City had paid a staggering £100 million for the English winger back in 2021 but Jack Grealish has very clearly failed to live up to the hype. He had signed a six-year deal but in three seasons, Grealish has managed to score just 14 goals along with 18 assists in 124 games for MCFC.

Pep Guardiola had been tolerating him only because he did not have a good backup for the left flank but now that he’s signed Jeremy Doku, the manager is willing to get rid of Jack Grealish during the upcoming transfer window.

Grealish might be a failure at Manchester City but he’s still valued at €65 million and Man City are hoping that one of the bigger clubs will be interested in signing the 28-year-old.

Should Chelsea try and sign Jack Grealish?

Chelsea had signed Cole Palmer from Manchester City last summer and the youngster has been a massive success this season. And someone like Jack Grealish has the talent to succeed in this struggling Chelsea team.

Raheem Sterling and Mudryk have both been failures down the left wing and if Jack Grealish gets a consistent run of games, he can solve a lot of problems for Pochettino.

The England international was the main man at Aston Villa, shouldering much of the attacking responsibilities but now at Manchester City, he has become a squad player and that’s something that very clearly does not suit his style of play. This season, he’s started only 10 Premier League games for City, and the rest of the time, he’s come off the bench.

Man City seem to have found stability with Jeremy Doku who looks like a far more exciting player and if Chelsea can offer a good enough transfer fee, Pep won’t hesitate to sell Jack Grealish.

Mykhaylo Mudryk and Sterling are both dispensable and if Chelsea feel confident about signing Jack Grealish then the Blues will happily sell one of Mudryk or Sterling. If Chelsea wish to get back to their feet next season then they will need flair players like Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez. And if given the chance, Jack Grealish can become a superstar at Stamford Bridge.

However, having said all this, Chelsea are very close to an FFP breach and they will need to sell a lot of players in order to balance their books. Unwanted first-team players like Gusto, Madueke, Carney Chukwuemeka, Cucurella and a few players will be sold promptly. Now, it remains to be seen if Chelsea have the budget to go out and spend around €70-80 million on the Manchester City winger.
