Javier Hernandez joined West Ham United in 2017 but it looks like he still has Man United in his heart.
Hernandez was still an unknown prodigy when he arrived at the shores of England from Mexico but under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson, he quickly went onto become one of the best substitutes in European football.
The Mexican went on to spend four uninterrupted seasons at the club before his career graph started to decline and he was eventually sold off to Leverkusen in 2015.
In 2017 he came back to England and joined West Ham United and since then the 30-year-old has been a key member of the squad.
But after Man United managed to beat PSG in the Champions League Round of 16 earlier this week, Javier Hernandez was one of those men who just could not hold back his emotions.
“Right now I’m in a British league, so I want any club from England to win the Champions League,” Hernandez told Sky Sports.
“Of course, my old club, Manchester United, that type of comeback (against PSG) was the typical United way.
“I’m very glad, I’m not going to lie. The West Ham fans know how important that club is for me. They gave me the opportunity.
“I think England is glad when every British team goes through a round in the Champions League.
“I think the most important thing is seeing a very important club like Manchester United getting back to those positions.”
These words from Javier Hernandez clearly show that he is still much a Red Devil at heart but the Mexican was cautious enough so that he does not hurt the sentiment of the Hammers fans.
