Chelsea are interested in making in signing Everton keeper Jordan Pickford during the upcoming summer transfer window – as per reports.
Jordan Pickford has been with Everton since joining the club from Sunderland back in 2017 and right now he is also the England No 1.
The player has made 29 appearances in the Premier League this season managing to keep six clean sheets and it looks like Frank Lampard is interested in signing him up.
Chelsea have already ramped up talks for the 26-year-old who is expected to cost around £43.6million since he’s still got four years left on his current deal at Everton.
Will Everton let Jordan Pickford leave?
Jordan Pickford has seen a slight slump in form over the past couple of months but the 26-year-old still remains one of the best keepers in the Premier League.
If this was any other club, we would have predicted a sale but Everton clearly have the financial power to hold onto a player like Jordan Pickford especially now that Carlo Ancelotti is in charge.
The Italian has been given the charge to build a new-look side for the upcoming season which is why there’s no way the Toffees will let him leave in the summer.
But having said that, there is one scenario in which Pickford could move to Stamford Bridge – if the Blues were to send Kepa Arrizabalaga the other way.
Kepa has been really poor this season, making a series of childish errors but given his high transfer fee, not many clubs will be interested in signing him despite Chelsea wanting to get rid of him in the summer.
So, in such a case, if Lampard was to offer the services of the Spaniard in exchange of Jordan Pickford, there’s every chance that Carlo Ancelotti agrees to this arrangement.
But will the Blues boss even consider a swap deal? That remains to be seen.
