Jose Mourinho Spurs Premier League
Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United last December and the Portuguese is yet to return back to management.

While he had claimed that he wanted to take charge of his new club during the summer but that hasn’t happened which is probably why he is now working as a pundit for Sky Sports.

And it was during one of his punditry sessions that Jose Mourinho in detail praised the current Manchester City team and also explained why they are better than the rest of the top-six clubs.

“The best team in England last season was Man City, in a pragmatic way,” he said(as reported by MEN).

“Liverpool too, but let’s focus on Man City – they won three titles in the domestic league.

“Don’t you think they are very good when they don’t have the ball? I think they are phenomenal.

“The way they defend, the way they react when they don’t have the ball, their defensive transition – I think they are phenomenal.

“A top team has to be complete in the four moments of the game – possession, non-possession, defensive transition, attack.

“Man City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Man City B team[his top-four prediction]. When I looked at the bench, the players not involved, I think the B team could fight for the title.

“We would love United, Chelsea and Arsenal to also be at that level, it would be something incredible.

“But we are speaking about a team that won everything in England, we are speaking about the European champion and the European runner-up. Then we are talking about United sixth, and playing Europa League and Arsenal fifth and Europa League too.”

Pep Guardiola has obviously turned Manchester City into a powerhouse and as per Jose Mourinho, no other club will come near to them this new season.

While some pundits have predicted that Liverpool will give a tough fight for the Premier League title but it remains to be seen how much extra can they provide after missing out on the title by just a single point.
