Manchester City remain the favourites to sign midfielder Joshua Kimmich but as per the latest reports, PSG are pushing hard to land the Bayern Munich man during the ongoing transfer window.

Joshua Kimmich is entering the final year of his contract but the gossip mills are ripe that the midfielder is not going to sign a new deal which is why Thomas Tuchel is now ready to offload him.

The 28-year-old has been on the Bavarians’ books since 2015 and this season, he’s started all the league games for the club. However, despite his importance in the first team, if he refuses to hold talks over an extension, he will be allowed to leave.

Pep Guardiola is very fond of the German international and with Phillips leaving this month and Matheus Nunes turning out to be a failure, the Manchester City manager wants Joshua Kimmich to be the long-term replacement for Rodri.

Barcelona have also registered an interest in the Bayern man but multiple reports are of the view that Man City are the frontrunners in signing him.

However, it looks like PSG could jump the queue and secure a transfer before the end of this month by using Nordi Mukiele as a counterweight.

Tuchel wants to bring Mukiele to the Allianz Arena because he can play both in defence and also in midfield and if the French side can offer a cash-plus-player deal then Bayern Munich won’t mind selling Joshua Kimmich.

Man City have been hoping to land the midfielder for a cut-price £25 million deal during the summer transfer window but he is available for £50 million this month.

All decisions will depend on whether Joshua Kimmich is willing to sign a new deal or not but since a club like PSG can afford to pay the big bucks, Bayern Munich will not want to risk holding onto him till the end of the season.

Manchester United and Liverpool have also been keeping tabs on Kimmich and both of them can afford to meet Bayern’s financial demands. However, we doubt if the 28-year-old will want to join either of these two sides over moving to PSG or reuniting with Guardiola.
