Chelsea are giving the final push to sign midfielder Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen and as per the Express, the Blues have set a deadline date by which they expect to complete the deal.

The report cites Bild saying: “Chelsea are reportedly looking to finalise a deal for Kai Havertz within the next 10 days in order to avoid the possibility of missing out on the German international. Bayer Leverkusen are due to return to pre-season training on August 28 and the Blues are keen to complete the signing of their top transfer target before then.

“The versatile attacker is believed to have already agreed personal terms with Chelsea and is thought to have been pushing to sign a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

“With Havertz convinced about a move, Blues director Marina Granovskaia has supposedly been locked in negotiations with Leverkusen over a transfer fee for the highly-rated youngster.

“Leverkusen want £90million for their prized asset, but Chelsea value Havertz at nearer £70m. Transfer talks have been taking place for the past week or so, with discussions supposedly accelerating once the Bundesliga side were knocked out of the Europa League.

“And reports from Germany claim Chelsea are desperate to get a deal over the line in the near future to avoid any unexpected complications.”

As per multiple reports in Europe, it looks like Kai Havertz and Chelsea have already agreed on personal terms and the only thing left to do now is to agree on a transfer fee with Bayer Leverkusen.

Fabrizio Romano is also claiming that Chelsea are falling about €20 million short from what the Bundesliga club are demanding but we are pretty confident that the Premier League side will be able to crack this one by the end of the month.

But with Kai Havertz set to arrive at the club, Chelsea might look to part ways with some of their current midfielders since they will clearly have an overload in that department once the 21-year-old comes in.
