Chelsea have been chasing Kai Havertz for a really long time but now it looks like Manchester United have also joined the race to sign him, as per reports.

Recently, Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller had hinted that Chelsea aren’t the only club who are interested in signing the young midfielder and he’d also insisted that the player will not be sold for cheap.

He said: “We know of the interest of a couple of clubs, especially Chelsea, but for us, the situation is quite simple.

“He has a two-year contract, if anyone wants him on our terms, fine, otherwise he stays here another year and we are happy.

“It won’t be easy, but for a player like him there is no Covid discount.”

Now as per reports, it seems like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has shifted his focus to Kai Havertz, possibly cause winger Jadon Sancho will not be allowed to leave Germany this summer.

If Man United cannot sign Sancho in time then they will have lot of funds left which they clearly want to put to good use.

Kai Havertz is ready to move to the Premier League next season and up until now, Chelsea were the only major English side who were keen to sign him up. But now with Man United also on the horizon, it will be interesting to see how the 21-year-old and Leverkusen both react to this development.

As far as we understand, Jadon Sancho still remains on Ole’s transfer priority list for the summer and if BVB do change their stance in the coming weeks then surely Man United will back off from the race to sign Kai Havertz.
