Arsenal have been linked with Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney for a couple of weeks now and most reports claim the youngster will move to the Emirates eventually.

Last week it was reported that the Gunners had submitted a bid of around £15 million in order to secure the player’s services.

But that initial offer was swiftly rejected by the Bhoys as they hold on to their demands of £25 million in order to release the player.

Some pundits have claimed that Arsenal were only trying their luck with their first offer and they will most certainly come back with a refreshed bid.

But will that refreshed bid meet the desires of Celtic?

According to the Evening Standard, the North London club are set to offer around £18 million which still falls short of the demanded transfer price but Emery is also willing to send one of his youngster out on loan to Parkhead for the upcoming season.

Arsenal are also prepared to offer Kieran Tierney a massive five-year deal at the club in which the left-back is expected to earn around £70,000 a week.

This means if Kieran Tierney does manage to stay at the Emirates for the full length of his deal then he will earn around £18.2 million in the form of wages.

Such big sums are surely expected to change the mindsets of the left-back and experts believe that he could himself ask Celtic to release him.

But as per the latest reports, Unai Emery might just be buying the Scottish international for all the wrong reasons.

Kieran Tierney plays at left-back and Arsenal already have the likes of Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac who occupy the same position.

And it seems like if the youngster joins the North London side then he could be used as a centre-back.

The 22-year-old has played in the middle of defence for Celtic on a couple of occasions but he is by no means a regular central defender.

If these rumours hold true then surely Emery is thinking in the wrong direction and this could eventually force Kieran Tierney to change his mind and stay put at Parkhead for one more season.
