Kieran Tierney missed a lot of games last season due to hernia trouble and this summer he has undergone a surgery.

Initial reports had claimed the player would be fully fit before the new Premiership season starts but now it looks like he could be out for another two months.

When Celtic boss Neil Lennon was recently asked about the player’s fitness, the said that Kieran Tierney is yet to recover fully and the left-back might be out of action for another eight months.

“Kieran started kicking a ball on Wednesday, but he’s still feeling some discomfort there,” Neil Lennon said.

“We’ll see how it is when things settle down because it’s a very unsettling time for him at the minute.”

And this injury concern has led to many rumours suggesting that Arsenal might very well pull off their interest from the left-back.

The Gunners have been trying to sign the Scottish international for a couple of months now and recent reports have suggested that Unai Emery is on the verge of wrapping up the transfer.

Now though, The Sun(via Sports Mole) are hinting that Arsenal might now pursue the transfer any more.

The report states:

“Celtic defender Kieran Tierney may reportedly miss out on a transfer to Arsenal this summer due to injury.

“The Gunners have been strongly linked with the versatile full-back for at least a month, and it has recently been suggested that a transfer was close to completion.

“However, Celtic boss Neil Lennon has indicated that the Scotland international is not close to making his return from a double hernia.”

While we still believe that Arsenal are trying to bring Kieran Tierney to the club but given that he will be out for almost two months, Unai Emery might have decided that it is best to invest the money on some other signing.
